Proud Dad/Grandfather

In spite of my last blog, I have to admit I had an indescribable proud moment at our 2014 Christmas gathering. At one point we all gathered in our basement living room for gift opening. We naturally started with the grandkids gifts. As the grandkids opened their gifts one by one they would find their parents in the crowd and show their gift(s) then find the giver to thank them. The atmosphere does get wild and loud but still very enjoyable. At one point, I diverted my attention from the show and briefly scanned the whole room. What I saw almost brought tears to my eyes. I saw our 5 happy adult children with their spouses enjoying their kid’s pleasures. Seeing our 8 healthy and happy grandkids enjoying the spirit of Christmas ranging from 12 years old to 8 months was beyond descriptive words. At that moment my life had meaning and purpose. Everything that I have ever done in life was right before me. This was definitely a proud moment to say the very least.
